THE PRINCESS ANNA PAGEANT

Princess Anna.jpg

The Princess Anna Pageant was added to the Texas Citrus Fiesta during a period of post-war expansion in the 1950s in an effort to include Mission's young residents. Carol Ellen Faulkner was the first young miss to hold the title of Princess Anna and was crowned in 1951. Since then, the pageant has expanded to include the titles of Princess of Lemon Blossom, Princess of Lime Blossom, Princess of Tangerine Blossom and Princess of Red Grapefruit Blossom. The pageant serves as an entry point to TCF participation for many young girls who go on to compete as duchesses later in life.
