A Valley Tradition Since 1932!

About the Product Costume
Style Show

Since 1932, the fiesta has hosted its Product Costume Style Show, in which exquisite, homemade costumes made from citrus and other local Valley products are displayed and judged during a fashion show. Utilizing local products like citrus, corn husks, beets, onions, and palms, designers spend weeks bringing these complex visions to life. Each unique entry is carefully evaluated for its originality and artistic design, and prizes are awarded in each category. Over the years, and with advancements in technology, these costumes have evolved into intricate works of art, utilizing Valley citrus, fruits, vegetables, and foliage that have been pulverized, dehydrated, blended, and microwaved. These stunning costumes have been featured in National Geographic, Southern Living, and Texas Monthly magazines, as well as in shows from Kansas City to Washington, D.C.

All members of the community are invited to enter the contest, and entries may be crafted by a single designer or a team of volunteers/artists. Entries may fall under the following categories: Adult Designer (18 years+), Teen Designers aged 11-17, Youth Designers aged 4-10 years, hats (all ages) or accessories (all ages). All entries must adhere to the current year's theme, and at least 50% of the costume should be composed of citrus product.
