King Citrus LXXXIX

Dante Galeazzi grew up immersed in agriculture in California's San Joaquin Valley, where his grandfather and uncle operated a diversified family farm producing almonds, walnuts, wine grapes, apples, onions, and cherries. His first job came at age 13, counting onion sacks in the field—work that steadily expanded in responsibility until he reached what coworkers called "the big time": operating a forklift in the onion packing shed. These early experiences instilled a deep respect for growers, labor, and the complexity of bringing food from the field to market.

Dante earned a degree in International Business from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2006. Immediately following graduation, he joined C.H. Robinson Worldwide in its perishable transportation division in Monterey, California. In 2007, he accepted a management role and relocated to McAllen, Texas, where he helped build the company's fresh produce transportation program for South Texas, an experience that marked the beginning of his long-term connection to the Texas produce industry.

In 2010, Dante transitioned into fresh produce sales and special projects with Rio Queen Citrus, where his professional focus on Texas grapefruit truly took root. Working alongside the Martin family, he marketed Texas grapefruit and oranges along with other commodities-across the United States and into international markets including Canada, Germany, and Japan. His passion for the company and the product ran deep; in fact, his youngest brother later relocated from California to join the Rio Queen Citrus team.

In 2013, Rio Queen Citrus became part of the Paramount Citrus organization. Dante worked closely with teams from Rio Queen, Heald's Valley, and Paramount Citrus groups that would later form Wonderful Citrus before moving on to his next chapter.

In 2014, Dante joined Frontera Produce, where he continued to work in sales and special projects, handling a diverse portfolio that included onions, citrus, honeydews, chili peppers, cabbage, and mangoes.

In 2017, after nine years of service on the board, Dante was appointed President & CEO of the Texas International Produce Association (TIPA).

Today, TIPA represents nearly 400 companies across the fresh produce supply chain. The association's mission is to educate, advocate, promote, and represent the more than $13 billion in fresh produce that is either grown in Texas or enters the United States through Texas as its first point of domestic arrival. TIPA also produces the Viva Fresh Produce Expo, a premier regional trade show that brings together more than 2,800 fresh produce professionals to network and highlight the critical importance of the Tex-Mex fresh produce corridor.

Since joining TIPA, Dante has been a leading advocate for the South Texas and Texas fresh produce industry on issues ranging from labor, international trade, food safety, transportation, infrastructure, market access, and water policy, Throughout his tenure, he has remained a tireless champion for Texas citrus, particularly Texas grapefruit. His efforts include participating in trade missions to Colombia and South Korea to promote Texas grapefruit, serving on state and federal committees addressing phytosanitary and market-access issues, and coordinating educational programs tailored to the needs of Texas citrus growers and packers.

Dante also worked with State Representative Isaac Carrey to establish Texas Fresh Fruit and vegetable Day, an annual initiative recognizing Texas-grown produce while educating students across the state. He has collaborated extensively with foodservice operators, school systems, hunger-relet organizations, and other partners to expand the presence of Texas citrus in both retail and institutional markets.

Beyond TIPA, Dante serves as a regional and national voice for South Texas fresh produce through leadership and advisory roles with organizations including the Rio Grande Partnership, the RioPlex, the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce, the Border Trade Advisory Committee, the Border Trade Alliance, USDA's Agricultural Trade Advisory Committee, USDA's Citrus Pest and Disease Advisory Committee, the North American Produce Transportation Working Group, IFPA's Government Relations Council, and IFPA's U.S.

Country Council, among others.

Outside of work, Dante is married to his beautiful wife, Shelly Galeazzi, and together they are raising three incredible children—Adrian, Antonio, and Ilaria. The Galeazzi family resides in McAllen, Texas. When time allows, Dante enjoys the outdoors, particularly hunting and backpacking, follows baseball as a fan of both the San Francisco Giants and Houston Astros, and values great meals and meaningful time with friends and family.
